LOVE is in the air on The Walking Dead as creator Robert Kirkman has lined up a new gay romance for two main characters.
The Walking Dead comic books have finally confirmed Jesus and Aaron’s blossoming new relationship, which will more than likely play out in the TV series too.
Jesus confirms their status to Rick Grimes when the Alexandrian leader asks for some help on a trip to Ohio.
“When I said I have something worth staying for – it was a someone,” he tells Rick. “A specific someone, actually. It’s Aaron. I was talking about Aaron. He’s not going to want to go either.”
However, the comic books are lightyears ahead of the AMC adaptation, so it could be a while until Jaaron are reimagined on the small screen.
The Walking Dead confirmed Jesus’ sexuality perfectly in season seven, with an appropriately subtle remark to Maggie.
Actor Tom Payne, who stars as Jesus, recently assured fans that the scripts for The Walking Dead season eight are “out of this world”.
He explained: “I always told myself I wouldn’t say what I’ve heard other cast members say every other year, which is, ‘Oh the next season is gonna be this! And the new episode is so many superlatives and so many words you use!’ And I’m like, ‘Come on, you can’t say the same things every year!’
“But then I had to bite my tongue and say, ‘Well, actually…’
“Season eight, the first few episodes are out of this world amazing. We’ve all been getting them and going, ‘Wow, okay, we thought that was amazing!’ and then the next episode is amazing.”
The Walking Dead is expected to return to AMC and FOX UK later this year.
